Its mounting suits that layout, where the bay isn't already given over to an auxiliary battery tray. What does a Fuel Manager filter kit do?

It's a diesel filter and water separator fitted ahead of the factory fuel filter. On a 200 or 70 Series, it gives water and fine debris from the diesel a place to be caught and drained before they reach the common-rail pump and injectors. It protects the injection hardware — nothing more, nothing claimed about power or economy.
