The Exhaust Systems Australia ISUZU-D-MAX-2016-ONWARDS-3L-3-INCH-TURBO-BACK-DPF-DELETE-EXHAUST-1 is a 3in turbo-back system listed to fit the Isuzu D-Max 3.0L (2020). As the slug states, it is a DPF-delete design, so it removes the factory diesel particulate filter rather than working around it.
A turbo-back run replaces the exhaust from the turbo outlet all the way to the tailpipe, a longer span than a cat-back and the section where a 3.0L diesel like the D-Max's tends to free up gas flow. This one is sized at 3in for that engine. Because it is a DPF-delete, the diesel particulate filter the D-Max left the factory with is taken out of the system, which is the defining feature of this listing.
On a turbo-diesel ute the turbo-back is everything downstream of the turbocharger. Going to a single larger 3in bore reduces the restriction the standard plumbing places on the engine and changes the exhaust note compared with stock. The trade-offs are the ones common to any DPF-delete diesel system: the emissions hardware is gone, so it is not a like-for-like factory replacement and it carries the road-legal limits below.
Because this is a DPF-delete system, it removes the diesel particulate filter that is emissions hardware on a road-registered diesel.
