It takes one inlet and feeds two silenced centre sections, the classic dual-rear layout for these cars.
What does this dual-off-single arrangement do?
These VP–VS Commodores route a single front pipe and cat into a split that feeds two rear pipes. The MBM120MF supplies the two centre mufflers for that split — chambered silencers that take the single feed and quieten each side before the tailpipes. It's the part that turns a single mid-section into a balanced dual without re-engineering the front of the car.
