Built for the turbo car, the MPI Automotive MKHN0029 is a 3in turbo-back for the 3.0L Holden Commodore VL Turbo, running a muffler-to-muffler layout. The turbo-back span and 3in bore suit the forced-induction six.
Why a turbo-back on the VL Turbo?
Turbo-back means the run starts from the turbo outlet rather than the cat, so it's a longer span than a cat-back and the point where a boosted engine like the VL's 3.0L tends to free up. The 3in bore is sized for that, flowing more than the factory pipe. Two mufflers share the silencing across the system for a settled note despite the larger bore.
What does the system change?
From the turbo back, the MKHN0029 replaces the factory pipework with a 3in run and two mufflers. On a turbo six the post-turbo restriction is where flow matters, so the bigger-bore step sits where it counts. We can't quote a sound level — the honest test is to hear a comparable fit on a similar VL.
