Shaped for the Holden VX/VY V8 Monaro, the MPI Automotive MKHN0145 is a 2.5in dual cat-back with twin mufflers in each line. The Monaro's coupe rear floor takes its own routing, and this fully silenced dual layout is built around it.
What's particular about a Monaro system?
The VX/VY Monaro is a two-door on the Commodore underpinnings, and its rear floor and hanger layout differ from the sedan and ute it's based on. The MKHN0145 is routed for that coupe body as a dual, so twin 2.5in pipes run the length of the car. It's the dual cat-back made specifically for the Monaro shape rather than adapted from another body.
Why twin mufflers per side?
A muffler-into-muffler run puts two silencing stages in each pipe, so the V8 passes through twice the absorption and reflection of a single box. Across a dual layout that makes the MKHN0145 the most subdued of the dual options — measured rather than loud. The 2.5in bore holds gas speed up for low-down and mid-range response. We can't quote a sound figure; a comparable twin-muffler fit is the honest gauge.
