The MPI Automotive MKHN0166 is the twin-muffler 2.5in cat-back for the Holden Commodore VE V8 sedan and wagon. Two mufflers in the line, on the tighter bore, make it the most subdued of the VE V8 cat-back options.
Why two mufflers in the run?
A muffler-into-muffler layout puts two silencing stages in the path, so the V8's pulses pass through twice the absorption and reflection of a single box. That's what makes the MKHN0166 the quietest, most factory-like of the cat-backs for the VE V8 — it shapes the note hardest before it exits. We won't put a number on the volume; hearing a comparable twin-muffler fit is the honest reference.
What does the 2.5in bore bring?
Two-and-a-half inches is the tighter pipe option, holding gas speed up for low-down and mid-range response on a street V8.
