The MPI Automotive MKHN0234 is a 2.5in dual cat-back for the Holden Commodore VU/VY/VZ V8 ute, with a muffler running into a tailpipe on each side. The 2.5in bore keeps it close to factory pipe size while the dual routing gives the V8 twin paths out.
Who is the 2.5in dual for?
Two-and-a-half inches is the tighter bore option — it holds gas speed up for low-down and mid-range pull on a street V8 rather than chasing top-end flow. Run as a dual, the system splits into two pipes under the ute tray, so it balances the stock-style pipe size with the twin layout. It's the pick when you want twin exits and firmer response on a stock-style pipe size.
What does the muffler-tailpipe configuration do?
Each side carries one muffler and then a tailpipe — a single silencing stage per pipe rather than a doubled muffler run. That keeps the path more open than a twin-box system while the single muffler per side still tempers the note. It remains a cat-back, so the catalytic converter and front pipework stay as the factory fitted them; this section starts behind the cat.
