Built on a 3in bore, the MPI Automotive MKHN0252 is the larger-pipe cat-back for the Holden Commodore VU/VY/VZ V8 ute. It runs a single muffler into a tailpipe, so the gas passes through one silencing stage before exiting — the freer-breathing, single-box layout for the V8 tray.
What does the 3in bore suit on the V8 ute?
Three inches is the bigger of the bore options, sized for a V8 that's been worked or simply wants the larger pipe to keep up at the top end. On the VU/VY/VZ ute it replaces the factory cat-back with a single muffler feeding a tailpipe — fewer silencing stages than a twin-muffler run, which is what gives this layout its freer-breathing character. Why a muffler-and-tailpipe layout?
This is a single-muffler system: one box does the silencing, then the pipe runs straight to the tail.
