The MPI Automotive MKHN0347 is the most road-minded build in the RG range: a 3in turbo-back for the Holden Colorado RG 2.8L (DPF, from August 2016) that keeps both the catalytic converter and a rear muffler. Cat in, muffler in — the complete, quietest layout here.

Why keep both the cat and the muffler?

Retaining the catalytic converter leaves the factory emissions hardware in place, and keeping the rear muffler holds the chambered box that absorbs and reflects sound. Together they make the MKHN0347 the most civil and most road-oriented of the RG 2.8L turbo-back builds — it's the bigger-bore upgrade without stripping out the components the delete versions remove.

What does the 3in turbo-back do?

The system runs from the turbo outlet rearward at a 3in bore matched to the 2.8L diesel — the engine-back span where the Colorado RG tends to free up over the standard system. Keeping the muffler means the note stays settled rather than raucous, so it's the option for owners who want the larger bore but a tone that's liveable day to day.

Is the MKHN0347 road legal?

Because it keeps the catalytic converter, it leaves the emissions component that usually decides registration on a diesel ute in place. Compliance still depends on your full vehicle, the DPF, noise limits and your state's rules, so confirm the exact build and any NSW requirements with the workshop before fitting.
