The MPI Automotive MKHN0444 is the cat-delete-with-hotdog build for the long-wheelbase 3.0L Holden Colorado RC (2010–2012). It's routed for the LWB tub, deletes the cat, and runs a hotdog to take the harshness off — so it's an off-road system with more manners than a bare pipe.

What does the hotdog bring to a cat-delete LWB system?

With the catalytic converter deleted, the MKHN0444 would otherwise be wide open; the hotdog is what tames it. A hotdog is a straight-through resonator — gas passes through a perforated core rather than being bounced through chambers — so it trims drone and harshness while keeping flow high. That makes this the cat-delete Colorado RC build for an owner who wants the converter gone for off-road use but a tidier note than a fully open system.

Is the MKHN0444 road legal?

No. It deletes the catalytic converter, a road-relevant emissions component, so it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is supplied for off-road use only. There's no softening that — the hotdog tames the tone but doesn't restore the emissions hardware. For a registrable LWB ute, choose a with-cat version.

Why does the LWB routing matter, and what does it cost?

The Colorado RC came short and long wheelbase, and this system is bent for the longer LWB tub, so the wheelbase has to match before it'll sit correctly. The MKHN0444 has a published RRP of $1,654.19.

What does fitting involve at our Illawarra workshop?

Oak Flats Muffler Men supplies and fits MPI Colorado RC systems in-house across the Illawarra. Because it's an off-road cat-delete, we'll confirm where it can be used, then check the LWB routing and hotdog placement before it goes on the hoist.

Stocked and fitted by Oak Flats Muffler Men, the Illawarra exhaust and 4x4 specialist in Oak Flats, NSW.

Common questions

Can the Colorado RC stay registered with the MKHN0444?
No. It deletes the catalytic converter, so it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is for off-road use only. The hotdog tames the note but doesn't change that.
Is this the LWB or SWB system?
It's the LWB (long-wheelbase) routing. Make sure your Colorado RC's wheelbase matches before ordering — we'll confirm it.
What does the hotdog do?
It's a compact straight-through resonator that trims drone and harshness while flowing more freely than a chambered muffler.
