The MPI Automotive MKHN0448 is the de-cat, hotdog build for the short-wheelbase Holden Colorado RC 3.0L (2010–2012). It deletes the catalytic converter and runs a compact hotdog resonator, making it the most open-flowing option for the SWB ute.
What does the de-cat hotdog setup do?
MKHN0448 pulls the catalytic converter out of the system and uses a hotdog — a short straight-through resonator — in place of a full muffler. Removing the cat clears the largest in-line restriction, and the hotdog damps lightly while keeping gas moving, so this is the freest-breathing, most open-noted configuration for the SWB Colorado RC.
Is it road legal in NSW?
No. Because it deletes the catalytic converter, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is for off-road use only. It suits off-road and competition Colorado builds where emissions compliance isn't needed. For a registered ute, choose a with-cat variant.
