The hotdog is the distinguishing piece: a compact straight-through resonator that knocks the harshness off a free-flowing turbo-back without the bulk or volume drop of a full muffler. With the cat gone, it's an off-road build.
What does the centre hotdog do?
A hotdog is a short, straight-through resonator — gas passes through a perforated core rather than being bounced through chambers. On the MKHN0475 it sits in the centre of the run where a larger muffler would, so it takes the edge off drone and harshness while keeping the path open. The result is freer-flowing than a fully muffled system but more tempered than a straight pipe — the middle ground for a Colorado 7 owner who deletes the cat but doesn't want bare resonance.
Is the MKHN0475 road legal?
No. It deletes the catalytic converter on a road-relevant turbo-back, so it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is supplied for off-road use only. There's no softening that — the hotdog tames the note, but it doesn't change the cat-delete status. For a registrable wagon, choose a with-cat version.
