Nissan Patrol GU 6 Cylinder 2 1/2in Centre Muffler (SKU: SSMBM071MF) Engineered for selected vehicle.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The MPI Automotive SSMBM071MF is the centre-section muffler for the Nissan Patrol GU 6-cylinder, built at a 2in bore. Its job is mid-system: it does the first stage of quietening before the rear silencer, rather than at the tailpipe.
A centre muffler is the middle silencer in the run. It takes the first cut at the note so the rear muffler doesn't have to do all the work, which keeps the GU Patrol's voice balanced front to back. The SSMBM071MF is built at a 2in bore to suit the Patrol's centre routing, and as a chambered body it quietens by absorption and reflection.
When you replace or upgrade a rear silencer, matching the centre muffler keeps the system consistent — both stages working together rather than fighting. On the GU 6-cylinder this is the mid-system piece. MPI Automotive lists it as a muffler only, so the surrounding pipe is confirmed at fitting and material isn't published by the supplier.
It's listed to fit the Nissan Patrol GU 6-cylinder. The GU came in ute and wagon forms with differing floors, so confirm your exact body and build with the workshop before ordering. Tip specs aren't published.
