Holden Commodore VS Wagon - Ute 2 1/2in Centre Muffler (SSMBM164MF) fits selected vehicle.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The MPI Automotive SSMBM164MF is a centre muffler matched to the Holden Commodore VS wagon and ute bodies. Where a sedan centre box is routed for the saloon floorpan, this one is packaged for the longer wagon and ute tail.
The VS wagon and ute carry their exhaust differently to the sedan — a longer body, a different floorpan and revised hanger positions toward the rear. This centre muffler is the version matched to that packaging, so it drops into the wagon or ute location without fabrication. Fitting a sedan part to a wagon usually means it won't line up.
It's the mid-system chambered silencer, sitting ahead of the rear box and doing much of the quietening while the gas is still hot. It quietens by absorption rather than choking flow, so a fresh unit keeps the VS civil without strangling the engine. On a car of this age the centre box is a common rust-out and split point, so replacing it restores the factory note and closes a leak that often turns up as a drone or a rasp under load.
It's listed to fit the Commodore VS wagon and ute. Confirm your engine and exact build with the workshop before ordering, as V6 and V8 routing differs.
