MPI Automotive Holden Commodore VT VU VY VZ V8 Wagon Dual 2 1/2in Rear Muffler.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The MPI Automotive SSMBM254MF is a dual rear muffler matched to the V8 Commodore wagon. The wagon callout is the key: a wagon routes and hangs its rear exhaust differently to the sedan or ute, and this rear box is packaged for that body.
The Commodore wagon carries its tail differently to the sedan and ute — a longer roofline, a different rear floorpan and revised hanger positions. This dual rear muffler is the version matched to the wagon, so it sits in the wagon's rear location and lines the tailpipes up correctly. A sedan or ute rear box generally won't hang right under a wagon.
As the tailpipe-end silencer in a dual layout, it does the final quietening on both banks of the V8 and shapes the note at the back of the wagon. It's the part you hear most, and on an ageing wagon it's also a common rust-out and split point that shows up as drone or rasp under load. It's a chambered absorptive muffler, quietening by absorption rather than running open, so a fresh unit restores the factory note without choking flow.
It's listed to fit the Commodore wagon in V8 form across the VT, VU, VY and VZ series. Confirm your exact series and build with the workshop before ordering.
Oak Flats Muffler Men fits dual rear mufflers in-house across the Illawarra, checking the tailpipe alignment and the wagon-specific rear hangers. MPI Automotive lists it at $759.50; send your VT-VZ wagon details through and we'll confirm the fit.
