Holden Commodore VT VU VY VZ V6 2 1/2in Single Centre W/out Muffler (SKU: SSMBM280WOM) Engineered for a wide range.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The MPI Automotive SSMBM280WOM is the without-muffler centre pipe for the V6 VT-VZ Commodore — a straight section that replaces the centre silencer entirely. With no box in the middle of the system, it's the freer-flowing, louder centre choice for the six-cylinder.
Instead of a chambered centre muffler, this option runs a straight pipe through the centre position with no silencer at all. That removes the mid-system muffling, so the rear box does the quietening and the V6 is louder and freer-flowing through the middle than the with-muffler setup. It's the centre-delete pipe rather than a silencer.
Fitting a straight centre pipe gives more flow and a louder note than the chambered centre muffler, at a lower price point since there's no box to build. How much louder depends on the rest of your system, so talk to the workshop about the note you want before committing. It's a flow-and-sound choice, not a quieter one.
It's listed to fit the Commodore in V6 form across the VT, VU, VY and VZ series, in the single centre position. Confirm your exact series and build with the workshop before ordering.
Oak Flats Muffler Men fits centre-delete pipes like this in-house across the Illawarra, matching the straight section to the centre hangers on your V6. MPI Automotive lists it at $300.20; talk to us about how loud you want the car before fitting.
