Holden Commodore VP - S V8 IRS Sedan Dual 3 in Rear Muffler for selected vehicle applications.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The SSMBM419MF is a dual 3in rear muffler for the IRS-equipped Holden Commodore VP–VS V8 sedan — the rear-section silencing built around the independent rear suspension floorpan of those cars.
The independent-rear-suspension VP–VS sedans pack the rear differently to the live-axle cars, with the subframe and diff taking up space around the tailpipe run. This dual rear muffler is built for that IRS packaging, so both 3in tailpipes clear the subframe and seat on the right hangers.
The dual layout feeds two tailpipes at the back of the sedan, doing the final silencing as the gas exits. Built to a 3in bore, it keeps both sides flowing evenly on a larger system rather than necking down to a stock outlet.
It's listed to fit the Holden Commodore VP through VS V8 sedan with the IRS rear. Confirm your exact model and that you have the independent rear with the workshop before ordering — live-axle cars use a different section, and the IRS subframe is the detail that sets this part apart from them.
Oak Flats Muffler Men supplies and fits the MPI Automotive SSMBM419MF in-house across the Illawarra. We hoist the car, line both tailpipes up with the IRS hangers and rear exits, check both sides clear the subframe, and confirm even sit before welding or clamping. Routing a dual rear around the independent rear takes a careful mock-up, which is part of the in-house fit. Send your model and we'll confirm fit.
