MPI Automotive Holden Commodore VE Sedan V8 6.2L E2 HSV 3in Dual Rear Mufflers.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The SSMBM478MF-E2 is the E2-specific 3in dual rear muffler set for the Holden Commodore VE sedan and HSV E2 V8 6.2L — a matched pair routed for the E2-series HSV rear rather than a standard VE.
HSV's E-Series ran through E1, E2 and E3 updates on the VE platform, and the rear muffler packaging and tips differ between them. This set is built for the E2 6.2L V8 sedan rear, so both 3in mufflers land on the E2's mounting points and tip locations rather than a generic VE.
Yes — two rear mufflers, one per bank, supplied together. A matched pair keeps the note and flow even across both sides of the E2 twin-rear system, which is what you want on a dual-tip HSV sedan.
Each muffler runs a 3in bore to match the twin 3in rear of the 6.2L LS3 V8 fitted to the E2 cars. That keeps the larger-displacement HSV V8 flowing to the tail rather than necking it down to a stock outlet. On a dual-tip HSV sedan the rear mufflers also carry the visual finish at the bumper, so seating both sides evenly matters as much as the flow.
Oak Flats Muffler Men supplies and fits the MPI Automotive SSMBM478MF-E2 pair in-house across the Illawarra. We hoist the car, line both mufflers up with the E2 rear hangers and tips, check bumper clearance, and confirm even sit before welding or clamping. As a matched MPI Automotive set it's a clean rear-section job once the car is on the hoist. Send your series and we'll confirm fit.
