VY HSV V8 Sedan 2.5in Dual Catback Hotdog/Muffler.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The MPI Automotive SSMKHN0133 is finished with a hotdog - a 2.5in dual cat-back listed for the VY HSV V8 Sedan. The hotdog resonator is what sets it apart on the VY: a compact straight-through silencer on a dual 2.5in run rather than a full muffler.
This SSMKHN0133 finishes through a hotdog - a compact straight-through resonator - instead of a chambered muffler. It trims harshness and tunes the note while keeping flow free across the dual 2.5in pipes, the lighter silencing path that distinguishes it from a muffled VY cat-back. A hotdog also packages slim, which suits the rear of the VY sedan.
The system splits the flow into two 2.5in pipes - a dual cat-back matched to the VY HSV Sedan V8's twin-outlet layout. It runs from the cat rearward through two paths, with the moderate 2.5in bore suited to a standard or lightly-built engine.
A cat-back replaces the exhaust from the catalytic converter back, leaving the factory cat upstream where HSV fitted it. On the VY sedan this is the dual 2.5in run from the cat rearward through the hotdog - emissions hardware untouched.
Oak Flats Muffler Men supplies and fits 2.5in dual cat-backs like this in-house across the Illawarra. We confirm the hotdog and twin-pipe routing against your VY HSV sedan, then book the bay once the build is verified. It's supplied as a special-order MPI Automotive part, so we confirm the build and lead time when you enquire before ordering.
