Holden Commodore VU VY VZ V8 Ute 3in Catback Hotdog/Muffler (SKU: SSMKHN0251) Engineered. Quality guaranteed.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The MPI Automotive SSMKHN0251 is the hotdog-and-muffler 3in cat-back for the Holden Commodore VU/VY/VZ V8 ute. A compact straight-through hotdog ahead of the muffler is its signature: it keeps the larger 3in run breathing freely while the muffler holds the note.
A hotdog is a short straight-through resonator — gas runs through a perforated core, trimming drone without the restriction of a chamber. On the wider 3in run for the VU–VZ ute it keeps flow up, with the muffler behind it settling peak volume so the V8 stays present rather than wide open.
It replaces the exhaust from the catalytic converter rearward along the VU–VZ ute, keeping the factory cat. The emissions hardware ahead of the cat is left standard, so this is the rear-half upgrade rather than an engine-back system, and the cat stays as Holden fitted it.
It is listed to fit the Holden Commodore VU, VY and VZ V8 ute; the supplier does not publish a year. Ute clearances vary with trays and tow gear, so we treat the listing as a guide rather than a guarantee and confirm the hotdog and muffler routing against your actual ute before ordering the part in.
