Holden Commodore VY VZ V8 1 ton 2.5in Dual Catback WOM/Muffler.
Category: Mufflers and resonators

The MPI Automotive SSMKHN0258 is the without-muffler build of the 2.5in dual cat-back for the VY–VZ Holden Commodore V8 1-tonner. Deleting the muffler makes it the loudest, most free-flowing option in this family — pipework only, no chambered silencing.
With no muffler in the rear section, gas runs straight through the pipework, so this is the hardest-edged, least restricted voice of the 1-ton cat-back options. There is nothing in the rear to absorb or reflect sound, which lifts volume noticeably over a chambered build — the choice when you want the V8 heard.
The Commodore 1-tonner uses a longer, ute-derived chassis and rear floor, so its exhaust routing and hanger points differ from the sedan and wagon. The SSMKHN0258 is mapped to that 1-ton body, with the 2.5in dual pipework sized for a stock or lightly worked V8.
It is listed to fit the Holden Commodore V8 1-ton across VY–VZ. Because the 1-ton chassis is distinct, confirm your exact build with the workshop before ordering rather than assuming a sedan or wagon part will carry over.
Oak Flats Muffler Men supplies and fits this system across the Illawarra. With no muffler it sits louder, so we will talk through the note and check hanger positions and clearance along the longer 1-ton floor before fitting. The listed RRP is AUD 1,856.51, and the part can be special-ordered through MPI Automotive when not on the shelf.
Stocked and fitted by Oak Flats Muffler Men, the Illawarra exhaust and 4x4 specialist in Oak Flats, NSW.
