The MPI Automotive SSMKHN0348 is a 3in turbo-back built without the catalytic converter for the Holden Colorado RG 2.8L (2016, Aug 2016-on DPF). Deleting the cat is what defines this one — it is an off-road-only system, not a road-registrable upgrade in NSW.
Why does deleting the cat matter here?
On a diesel ute like the Colorado RG, the catalytic converter is part of the factory emissions hardware the vehicle was certified with. Because the SSMKHN0348 leaves that converter out, it is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is supplied for off-road use only. There is no softening that: run it on a road-registered vehicle and the emissions equipment no longer matches the build it left the factory with.
What does a 3in turbo-back cover?
A turbo-back replaces the exhaust from the turbo outlet all the way back, a longer span than a cat-back and the bigger-bore step where a 2.8L turbo-diesel tends to breathe more freely. At 3in it is sized for the engine, and it runs a rear muffler to keep the note in check rather than chasing volume for its own sake.
