The hotdog is what separates the MPI Automotive SSMKHN0479 from a bare delete pipe: a compact straight-through resonator riding behind a 3in cat-deleted turbo-back on the non-DPF Holden Colorado RG 2.8L (2012 to August 2016). Because the converter is removed, it's an off-road-only system.
Why pair a hotdog with a cat-delete turbo-back?
Strip the converter from a 3in turbo-back and you get maximum flow but a raw note. The hotdog earns its place by taking the sharpest edge off that note — gas passes straight through a perforated core in absorptive packing, so it tempers tone without pinching the 3in path. That makes the SSMKHN0479 the composed end of the off-road set on this Colorado: freer than a silenced exhaust, yet not the bare-pipe extreme of a no-resonator delete. We can't attach a volume figure to it.
Is it road legal?
No. This turbo-back deletes the catalytic converter, which is emissions hardware the Colorado carried at registration, so the SSMKHN0479 is not ADR 79/04 compliant for road registration in NSW and is intended for off-road use only. There's no qualifying that — we'll walk through where a build like this can legitimately run before you commit.
