What does a fully open 3in turbo-back give the 2.8L?
A turbo-back replaces everything from the turbo outlet rearward — a longer span than a cat-back, taking in the bore step where a diesel like the 2.8L tends to free up. With the cat and the muffler both gone and a consistent 3in bore the whole way, the SSMKHN0481 is the least restrictive layout in this Colorado family: a clean, uninterrupted path and the rawest note it can make. That suits a dedicated off-road build chasing flow and sound, not a registered daily.
Is it road legal?
No. Deleting the catalytic converter on a road-relevant system puts the SSMKHN0481 outside ADR 79/04, so it is not compliant for road registration in NSW and is for off-road and competition use only.
