Unlike a coil or leaf, a torsion bar springs the front by twisting along its length — and the RAW 4x4 TB1551 is a replacement torsion bar listed to fit the Duratorq Ford Ranger PJ and PK ute and dual-cab.
What a torsion bar is and how it works
A torsion bar is the front spring on this style of ute: a long steel bar anchored at one end to the chassis and at the other to the lower control arm, so it resists the up-and-down of the wheel by twisting. Adjusting its preload is also how front ride height is set on a torsion-bar front end. The TB1551 is a direct replacement bar for the PJ/PK Ranger's front.
Why replace a torsion bar?
Torsion bars can sag or lose their set over time, dropping the front and reducing how much height adjustment is left in the system. A fresh bar restores the designed spring behaviour and gives back the adjustment range. RAW 4x4 hasn't published a rate figure we can quote, so we set ride height to your vehicle rather than to a number.
Will the TB1551 suit my PJ/PK Ranger?
