The MPI Automotive EMG123 is an extractor/manifold gasket listed to fit the Toyota 1Y, 2Y and 3Y petrol engines. It's the sealing gasket between the cylinder head and the extractor or manifold, not the header itself.
What does this gasket cover?
The EMG123 is the flat exhaust gasket for the Toyota Y-series petrol fours — the 1Y, 2Y and 3Y. It seals the joint where the extractor or factory manifold meets the head, keeping exhaust gas in the runner rather than leaking at the flange. It is cut to the Y-series port pattern, which is why it is listed against all three of those engines together.
What is an extractor gasket and what does it do?
An extractor gasket is the replaceable seal between the cylinder head and the extractor or manifold. It is renewed whenever the manifold or extractor comes off — a head job, a leak, or an extractor swap — because heat cycling sets the old material so it won't reseal. A worn gasket ticks or hisses under throttle and can let fumes past.
