The MPI Automotive EMG331 is an extractor gasket listed to fit the Nissan X-Trail 2.5L 4-cylinder QR25 engine (T30) from 2001 on. It is the sealing gasket between the cylinder head and the extractor flange.
What is an extractor gasket and what does it do?
The extractor gasket seals the joint where the extractor flange bolts to the cylinder head exhaust face, keeping combustion gas in the pipework at the port. On a four-cylinder like the X-Trail's QR25 it is a single, head-width gasket that lives in a constant heat cycle, so it is treated as a consumable and renewed whenever the extractors or manifold come off. The EMG331 is that sealing gasket, matched to the QR25 engine, not the extractors.
