What's a Fuel Manager pre-filter and what does it do?
It's a secondary diesel filter with a water separator, fitted before the factory fuel filter. Water and fine grit from the fuel get trapped and drained here rather than reaching the common-rail pump and injectors. It's protection for the injection hardware — no power or economy claims attached. The unit separates water out of the diesel and holds it in a bowl with a drain, so a quick check between services lets you tip out anything it's caught before it can build up.
