The FM617DPK is a Fuel Manager pre-filter — a diesel filter and water separator plumbed in before the standard fuel filter. On a hard-working D22 Navara, it gives water and fine debris from the fuel somewhere to be caught and drained before they reach the injection system, which is the costly end if contamination gets through.
What's a diesel pre-filter, in plain terms?
Diesel injection — particularly common-rail — runs at high pressure and doesn't tolerate water or grit.
