The MPI Automotive FX-231 is an extractor set listed to fit the Holden VY and VZ all-wheel-drive 5.7L and 6L Gen III - the Cross 8 AWD, Adventra and Crewman. It's the uncoated version of MPI's AWD Gen III V8 pattern.
What does an extractor set change on a Gen III V8?
An extractor (or header) replaces the cast factory manifold with tubular primary pipes, giving each cylinder a more open run off the head than a single shared casting. On the all-wheel-drive Gen III cars the packaging is tighter than the rear-drive Commodores, so the AWD-specific pattern matters. The FX-231 is the bare-steel set; the silver ceramic-coated equivalent is the FX-231HPC-S.
