The MPI Automotive FX-252HPC-S is a ceramic-coated extractor set listed to fit the 2.6 petrol Holden Jackaroo and Rodeo with an O2 sensor. The HPC-S silver ceramic coating is the difference between this version and the bare FX-252.
What is an extractor and what does the ceramic coating do?
An extractor set replaces the cast factory exhaust manifolds with tubular primary pipes, giving each cylinder a more open path out of the head than a shared casting. This version carries a silver ceramic coating, which is applied to the steel to help it shed heat and resist surface corrosion compared with an uncoated set. It is the O2-sensor pattern, so it is set up to carry the oxygen sensor the 2.6 petrol motor uses for its fuelling.
