What does this extractor set cover?
This is a header replacement for the front of the exhaust on the FWD 2.4L Pintara and its Ford Corsair twin. The KA24E is a four-cylinder running a single exhaust bank, so the extractor swaps the cast factory manifold for tubular runners that merge into one collector. The Corsair and Pintara were closely related models, which is why one set covers both — the listing names the UA 2.4L KA24E in front-wheel-drive form from 1989 onward.
What's an extractor and what does it change?
An extractor bolts to the cylinder head in place of the factory manifold. The cast item routes exhaust gas through short, uneven passages; an extractor uses tubes of more even length to merge that gas more smoothly, with the aim of easing back-pressure out of the head. It's the front-most and hottest part of the system. On a transverse FWD four like this KA24E, packaging at the front of the engine bay is tight, so a purpose-built set matters more than a generic header.
