The MPI Automotive FX-722 is an extractor set listed to fit the Nissan Patrol Y62 5.6L V8 from 2013 onwards, in both auto and manual. It's the uncoated header upgrade for the petrol V8 Y62, replacing the factory exhaust manifolds.
What is an extractor and what does it change?
Extractors replace the cast exhaust manifolds bolted to the cylinder heads. The factory casting is built compact and to a price; a tubular extractor set uses individual primary tubes to ease the path exhaust gas takes out of each cylinder. On a big petrol V8 like the Patrol Y62's 5.6L, it's the first part most owners change in the exhaust. The FX-722 is the plain steel version of this header for the Y62 — the same fitment as the ceramic-coated FX-722HPC variants, without the coating. No sound or performance figures are published with it.
Will it suit my Nissan Patrol?
