This 3in ute kit (HOLDEN-COMMODORE-VE-VF-V6-V8-UTE-3-KIT-WITH-2-X-HOTDOG-XPIPE-4-X-SC-TIPS) is the SC-tip build for the Holden Commodore VE–VF ute — a full 3in package with two hotdog resonators, an X-pipe and four SC tips. The SC tips are the point of difference: it's the same hotdog-and-X-pipe layout finished in the SC tip style.
Supplied by Exhaust Systems Australia, this kit finishes with four SC tips at the rear. The tip style is what sets it apart from the otherwise-matching AC-tip version of this ute kit — same hotdogs, same X-pipe, same 3in bore, different tip at the exit. A hotdog is a compact straight-through resonator — the gas flows straight through a slim cylinder, taking the edge off the note without the bulk of a chambered muffler, so the system stays free-flowing and the tone stays hard. Two of them run down the ute, and the X-pipe crosses the two banks so they share pulses and even the note out, which is what a dual system is built to do.
