This is the centre muffler — the mid-section silencer in the system, not the rear unit. The Exhaust Systems Australia HOLDEN-COMMODORE-VL-TURBO-3-1-2-CENTRE-MUFFLER-EVERFLOW is a single Everflo centre muffler listed to fit the VL Turbo Commodore.
The centre muffler sits in the middle of the exhaust and is the first stage of quietening on the turbocharged VL six. It takes the edge off resonance before the gas reaches the rear, working with the rear muffler to stage the silencing rather than relying on one unit. Fitting it as a standalone Everflo part lets you replace a corroded or blown mid-section without changing the whole system.
If your VL Turbo's rear muffler is sound but the centre section has rusted or split, this is the targeted replacement — you renew the mid-section only and keep the rest. It's also the part to fit alongside a fresh rear muffler if you're rebuilding the back half in stages. The Everflo unit is the chambered silencer for that centre position.
It's listed to fit the Holden Commodore VL Turbo. Engine and year detail beyond the turbo model aren't published, so send your build to the workshop and we'll confirm the centre muffler's inlet/outlet and length match your pipework before ordering. RRP is $880.
