This is the rear muffler — the unit at the back of the system that sets the tailpipe note, not the mid-section piece. The Exhaust Systems Australia HOLDEN-COMMODORE-VL-TURBO-3-1-2-REAR-MUFFLER-EVERFLOW is a single Everflo rear muffler listed to fit the VL Turbo Commodore.
The rear muffler is the last silencer in the system and the one that does the most to set how the car sounds at the tailpipe. On a turbocharged VL six it carries the final quietening, working after the centre muffler to keep the note civil at the back of the car. Supplied as a standalone Everflo unit, it lets you replace the rear silencer on its own.
If the centre section of your VL Turbo is sound but the rear muffler has rusted through or gone hollow, this is the targeted fix — renew the rear and keep the rest. It's also the piece to pair with a fresh centre muffler when rebuilding the back half in stages. The Everflo unit is the chambered silencer built for that rear position.
It's listed to fit the Holden Commodore VL Turbo. Engine and year detail beyond the turbo model aren't published, so send your build to the workshop and we'll confirm the rear muffler's inlet/outlet and length match your pipework before ordering. RRP is $770.
