Commodores of this era came with both live-axle and independent rear suspension, and the IRS subframe changes how the exhaust has to route over and around the rear of the car. This kit is cut for the IRS floorpan, so the pipe path and hanger points suit that layout rather than the live-axle one — picking the right version avoids clearance grief at fitting.
