With just a hotdog resonator and a tailpipe, this kit leaves out the chambered muffler entirely. The hotdog is a straight-through resonator that flows freely while damping select frequencies, so the result is an open, more vocal note than any muffler-based kit. It's the keenest-priced and most free-flowing of the VY Series II ute/wagon cat-backs here.
The cat-back runs from the catalytic converter rearward, sized at 2in for the V6. The front pipe and emissions hardware stay; this kit reworks the rear with a single resonator and the tailpipe, so it's the least hardware of the VY Series II ute and wagon options.
