The Exhaust Systems Australia HOLDEN-VE-VF-COMMODORE-UTE-V8-304-TWIN-2-5-VAREX-VALVED-CAT-BACK-SYSTEM is a twin 2.5in 304 stainless cat-back exhaust listed to fit the Holden VE/VF Commodore V8 ute. It runs a bi-modal Varex valved muffler for a switchable note.
What does this cat-back system cover?
A cat-back replaces the exhaust from behind the catalytic converters to the tailpipes, leaving the factory cats and the manifolds ahead of them in place. On the VE/VF Commodore V8 ute this is a twin 2.5in rear section in 304 stainless steel, so it splits to two pipes through to the rear of the tray. It's the rear half of the system rather than a headers-back rebuild.
What do the Varex valve and 304 stainless add?
Two facts define this one. The bi-modal Varex valved muffler opens or closes a path so the system runs a quieter note with the valve shut and a louder one with it open, usually switchable from the cabin. The 304 stainless construction is a corrosion-resistant grade suited to a ute that'll see Australian roads.
