This is a cat-back run for the VE/VF Commodore V8 ute, replacing the exhaust from the catalytic converter back as a twin 3in layout in 409 stainless. It uses a Varex valved, bi-modal muffler that switches the note between quieter and louder by opening and closing the silencing path.
What's a valved cat-back and what does it change?
A bi-modal valved cat-back keeps the cat in place but adds a valve in the rear muffler. Closed, it routes through more silencing for a quieter cruise; open, it bypasses for a louder note. On the V8 ute that's two characters from one twin 3in system — louder than stock when open, not a constant drone.
