What does the resonator do on this with-cat wagon?
Keeping the catalytic converter retains the emissions hardware, but swapping the muffler for a resonator changes the character: a resonator targets a specific frequency to cut drone rather than damping across the board, so the 4.5L single-turbo V8 keeps more of its voice than the muffler variant while the highway resonance is taken off.
