The Pacemaker KB12008-XXXM is the rear-muffler version of the single 3in system for the Toyota LandCruiser 70/79 Series V8 4.5L single-turbo Ute (2007–2016, pre-DPF) — routed for the cab-chassis body and quietened by a muffler at the rear.
What does the rear muffler do on this ute?
This variant uses a rear muffler to dampen the 4.5L single-turbo V8 by absorption, making it the more subdued of the ute layouts at this part of the range — quieter than the matching resonator version, which is tuned to attack drone instead. On a working 79 Series ute, the muffler is what keeps the cab settled at touring speed.
