A centre resonator is the heart of the Pacemaker KBD4211-XXRX, a 3in dpf-back kit for the Ford Ranger PX 2.0L bi-turbo diesel (YN2S, 2018–2022, DPF). The resonator tunes out cruise drone while leaving more of the bi-turbo's voice intact than an absorptive muffler would.
Why a centre resonator instead of a muffler?
A resonator works on a narrow frequency band — the boom you hear at a steady highway speed — rather than broadly soaking up volume. Mounting it centrally on this 3in dpf-back lets the Ranger keep a fuller, more characterful note than a muffler-led build while still killing the drone that makes long drives tiring.
