The Pacemaker PP4170-02 takes the centre muffler out of the supercharged-Coyote cat-back: built for the Ford Falcon GT and XR8 (FG and FG-X, 5.0L supercharged Coyote), it deletes the centre silencer but keeps dual rear mufflers and a quad-tip outlet, so it's louder than stock with rear silencing retained.
Why delete the centre muffler on the blown V8?
Removing the centre muffler opens the mid-section of the cat-back, so the 5.0L supercharged Coyote finds more voice, while the two rear mufflers keep it short of a fully raw note. The quad-tip outlet caps it off. It's the louder-than-stock middle ground against the fully rear-silenced version in this FG/FG-X family.
Where does a cat-back sit?
A cat-back is the run from behind the catalytic converters to the tips — mid-pipes, mufflers and tailpipes — with converters and engine-side hardware left in place. It's the part changed to alter road-car flow and sound without touching front-end emissions equipment.
