The MPI Automotive MBM375PHD is the aluminised-steel centre hotdog for the Toyota Fortuner 2.8L turbo-diesel (2016 onward), a 3in resonator at $421.77. The hotdog is the defining choice: it cuts diesel drone while staying free-flowing, as the value-priced middle of the centre options.
What does the centre hotdog do?
A hotdog is a compact straight-through resonator that targets and cuts drone, the boomy resonance that builds in the cabin on the highway, without the volume drop of a chambered muffler. On the Fortuner's 2.8L turbo-diesel it's the part that takes the drone out while keeping flow up through the centre. It sits between an open centre delete and the quieter chambered muffler.

This is the aluminised-steel version, the keener-priced route to the same centre hotdog. Aluminised tube resists surface rust well for the money, so it's the sensible choice on a budget-minded build where keeping the spend down outweighs the longest possible corrosion life.
