Where does a DPF-back begin and end?
It begins at the diesel particulate filter and runs to the tailpipe, so the MKGW0002 leaves the DPF and the upstream emissions hardware untouched. That makes it the least invasive way to free up the Cannon's 2.0L exhaust, stepped out to 3in for the rear section. For an owner who wants more flow without disturbing the filter, it's the straightforward path.
What does the no-muffler build sound like?
With no muffler in the system, the post-DPF run flows straight through. Because the DPF smooths much of the sound on this engine, the MKGW0002 firms up the note rather than turning the Cannon into a loud truck — a measured result for a working ute that still does daily duty and has to behave on the highway.
