This is a dual extractor-back package: 1-7/8in tubular extractors at the heads feed two 3in lines back, with a hotdog resonator and a muffler doing the silencing. Against the muffler-and-tailpipe version of this 3in dual system, the extra hotdog makes this the quieter, more resolved option.
What do the extractors, hotdog and muffler each do?
The 1-7/8in extractors replace the cast manifolds with tubular runners that merge downstream, easing back-pressure off the heads and changing how the V8 breathes.
