At 2.5in this package keeps exhaust-gas speed up, favouring low-down and mid-range response on a street-driven V8 ute. Left-and-right means a mirrored pipe down each side rather than both routed together, so the back half is symmetric. It's the keener-bore, daily-friendly option in the VU-VY-VZ ute range.
What does the hotdog add to the note?
The MKHN0242 runs a hotdog resonator ahead of the muffler. The hotdog is a straight-through inline silencer that softens drone before the gas reaches the muffler, so together they aim for a cleaner cruise than a single muffler alone — sensible on a ute used every day across the side-exit layout.
