The MPI Automotive MKHN0331 is the quieter 3in build for the VF HSV V8 sedan, running a full muffler rather than a compact hotdog. Where the hotdog version leans louder, this muffler-spec set is the more restrained finish on the same 3in platform.
Why the muffler spec over a hotdog?
This MKHN0331 is the muffler-finished version in MPI's VF range. A full chambered muffler does more silencing work than a straight-through hotdog, so on a 3in system it takes the edge off the note while still letting the bigger bore flow. For an HSV-badged VF sedan that the owner wants freer-breathing but still liveable on the road, it's the calmer of the two muffler choices.
What does the system replace?
It's a header-back package: tuned-length extractors swap out the factory cast manifolds at the cylinder heads, then run into the matched 3in exhaust and its muffler.
