The MPI Automotive OSE-UZJ100 is an O2 sensor mini-cat extension kit, supplied as a pair (x2), listed to fit the Toyota Landcruiser UZJ100. It's an emissions-sensor accessory, not a full exhaust, supplied and fitted at our Illawarra workshop.
What is this kit?
This is an oxygen-sensor mini-cat extension kit for the UZJ100 Landcruiser, supplied as a set of two. A mini-cat extension is a small inline catalyst-and-sensor arrangement that lets the oxygen sensor read correctly when the main exhaust has been changed. Being supplied x2 reflects the twin-bank V8 layout the UZJ100 uses. It isn't a complete exhaust system, so there's no main diameter or muffler to quote.
What does a mini-cat sensor extension do?
Oxygen sensors feed the engine management with exhaust data, and they expect to see a certain gas condition at their location. A mini-cat extension places a small catalyst element in the sensor's flow path so the reading stays sensible after an exhaust change, helping keep the engine management happy.
